Pink Opal – Hand-Spun Merino | Sport/DK Weight
Some colors don't sit still.
That's the thing about a real pink opal: catch it in one light, and it's the softest blush you've ever seen. Shift it slightly and there's peach in there, warm and glowing. Turn it just a little more and a whisper of lavender slips through like it was there all along, waiting to be noticed.
Malabrigo got the color right. I just knew it when I saw it. It took a while to get this one right. It was worth it.
Pink Opal is hand-spun in my West Virginia studio from 100% ultra-fine Merino chosen for its natural beauty and that buttery, next-to-skin softness that makes you forget you were ever going to put it down. Every yard is guided slowly through the wheel by hand into a 2-ply Sport/DK weight with a rhythmic, organic twist and a depth of shifting color, soft pink into warm peach into barely-there lavender. Something that a commercial mill simply cannot replicate. The movement of color is the craft.
The result is a skein that feels as delicate as it looks, and a whole lot stronger than it lets on. Like the gem itself.

Pink Opal is a limited-edition colorway spun in small batches in my West Virginia home and not likely to last long. This is the skein for a heirloom shawl, a delicate luxury accessory, or any project you're making to keep. Or to pass down. Either way, it'll be ready.
Care Instructions: To preserve the integrity of the natural fibers and the delicate hand-dyed hues, we recommend a gentle hand wash in cool water with a premium wool wash. Lay flat to dry in the shade.
