November Autumn – Hand-Spun Malabrigo Merino | Sport/DK Weight

November in West Virginia doesn't go quietly.

It unfolds in a dazzling display of sourwood burgundy and birch gold, shimmering in the dark, tannin-rich river water. The air is filled with the cozy scent of woodsmoke and crisp coldness, along with a subtle, indescribable aroma that feels instantly familiar. It goes the way Margaret goes, unhurried, on the porch, with good yarn in her hands and nowhere else to be.

(Want to meet Margaret? You can read the full story behind this colorway on our blog!)

The Provenance
November Autumn
is hand-spun in my West Virginia home from 100% ultra-fine Malabrigo Merino, chosen specifically for its extraordinary color saturation and that buttery, cloud-soft drape that makes you want to cast on before you've even wound the skein into a ball. Every yard is guided through the wheel by hand into a 2-ply Sport/DK weight with a rhythmic, organic character that a commercial mill simply cannot reproduce. The process is the point.

The colorway tells the whole story: moody river blues and deep coffee browns give way to brilliant gold and small touches of quiet wine-colored huckleberry and deep sourwood burgundy woven all the way through. It's high contrast, richly layered, and genuinely opulent — the kind of skein that makes you sit with it a minute before you even think about a pattern.

This is the yarn for the project that's meant to last. Heirloom shawls, luxury accessories, the piece someone will still be wearing in twenty years, and people will still be asking where it came from.

Artist’s Note:

This is the yarn Margaret was knitting with on her porch, a story of the season crafted to bring the feeling of a crisp West Virginia morning into your hands.  A limited seasonal release, November Autumn is spun exclusively for the harvest season and will not return to the wheel until next year. It is perfect for heirloom shawls and luxury accessories that feel like coming home.

Care Instructions:

To preserve the integrity of the natural fibers and the hand applied dyes, we recommend a gentle hand wash in cool water with a premium wool wash. Lay flat to dry.
