Blue Spruce – Hand-Spun Merino | Sport/DK Weight
There's a particular kind of quiet you only find deep in an Appalachian wood. Not empty quiet; a full quiet.
Blue Spruce is handspun right here in my West Virginia home, slowly and intentionally guided through the wheel from ultra-fine Malabrigo Merino chosen for its buttery softness and amazing color. The result is a 2-ply Sport/DK weight with a rhythmic, organic twist that has real character, the kind of depth and texture that a commercial mill simply isn't set up to give you.
The colorway runs through deep blue-greens, shadowed teals, and grounding woodland browns — moody without being heavy, rich without being loud. The natural variation in the twist catches light in a way that makes even a simple stockinette look like you meant every single stitch. (You did. We both know it.)
This is the yarn you reach for when the project matters.
